Happy New Years

Jan 17, 2013 21:50

I haven't posted in this in a while.

Yes, it's 2013. A year that ends in and is abbreviated to 13. I already think this year's gonna be crazy with the whole fiscal cliff fiasco (and the debt ceiling coming up whoo!!!!), and of course it's ass cold around here so I expect the winter to be crazy.

I'll probably post more about the last year later, but now on to goals... yes goals not resolutions.

1) Get a better job.
2) Get into a 4 year school.
3) My a1c is too high, so exercise more (yea right).
4) Clean my apartment, at least before city inspection in May.
5) Learn to sew.

That's the only things I think I can actually accomplish and I'm uncertain I'll even accomplish 1 & 3 anyway. 5 I'll be taking classes for, I think. With 2 I'm applying to schools right now. 4 I have to do so inspections go smoothly.

My last 3 weeks have been busy, and I didn't get everything I wanted to do over break accomplished. I expected break to be lazy and boring so I'd have time to work on little things, but it didn't seem like that happened.

Some of the things I did during the holiday weeks:

- went to a Christmas party where I did a blind bag exchange and received a Adventure Time wallet that no one else wanted, so I have no idea what to do with it.
- Played with my Pathfinder group two days in a row.
- Spent 12/21 playing zombie-fighting games (COD2 Zombies, L4D2).
- Went to the Christmas Eve candle service at my grandparent's church and did that Donut Delivery I always do. We deliver donuts to people who have to work over Christmas.
- On Christmas we went to see the Hobbit, or at least tried to. After being there before the theater opened and standing in line for 20 minutes the 3pm show was sold out. We had to wait until 6 even though my grandparents had food ready at 6p. I had to take home cold leftovers!
- Spent 4 hours the day after Christmas waiting to have my snow tires put on because I had bald tires on, and it was snowing hard. This would be the day where we got 6-8 inches of snow.
- Spent the Thursday after Christmas with my family.
- Spent the Saturday before New Years going to a Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert.
- Went to ride a winter train, and eat at a famous German restaurant.
- Spent New Years at my mother's house because her idea of an ideal New Years is falling asleep on the couch.
- Went to a local museum that had an exhibit of skyscrapers built out of legos. The Burj Khalifa was 20 feet tall.

More thoughts about 2012 will come soon. A list of music, movies, animation. My own trials, including the death of family. And world events, although this time I'll make it simple and only list world events I have a strong opinion about, rather than everything.

2013, holidays, reflections, holiday, review, christmas, new years
