My Fourth weekend

For as long as I can remember fireworks that fly have been illegal in Michigan, but not illegal in Ohio, so everyone would just go south, buy hundreds of dollars of them, then carry them back up and light them off anyway.

They became legal this year. It's strange going to a fireworks tent or store and seeing shells sold legally. I bought a few 200g repeaters, 6 shells, and some bottle rockets and larger rockets, and spent $30 (they're not cheap). Also, because they're now legal now EVERYONE had been shooting off shells.

I went to fireworks at three locations, one on last Saturday on a lake (best view but shortest show, and not as good as the other shows), one at a park on Tuesday (some trees were kinda in the way), and one on the 4th in Westland (reminder to future self, DO NOT PARK WHERE YOU PARKED THIS YEAR, THE VIEW THERE SUCKED THANKS TO TREES!!!). At the Westland location the official show sucked compared to all the people firing off shells and repeaters in all directions like it was a warzone.

On the 4th I went to two parades. I miss the fighter jet flyover they didn't have this year, but at the second parade they had a pair of Warthogs fly over. Both parades had floats from Baptist churches, one of them with the Statue of Liberty with a giant bible in front of it, the other with signs that said "one nation under GOD". Yea, go fuck off with your religious bullshit on this holiday. Stay classy America.

Now to go light off the rest of those fireworks.

4th of july, fourth of july
