Elaboration on attraction

Okay, so last week I mentioned I find some people more attractive than others, at least physically. Of course, this works personality wise as well. And, things that I find attractive on some women are things other guys don't find attractive.
For instance, being thin. You might that I find all thinner women hot, and in some cases yes. But let's look at a case of my mother's coworker's daughter. We were friends as children and she was cute and a nice person back then, but I didn't see her through high school. Her mom spoiled her rotten and made her into an ebony Paris Hilton. When I last saw her a couple years ago, we were going to the Renaissance Festival. She pulls up in a ghetto Escalade complete with the tinted windows and giant crome rims, steps out in high heels, designer clothes/handbag, and Paris Hilton giant shades. She doesn't even get through half the festival before complaining of walking on the woodchips in heels and being bored.
No amount of her being slim and having boobs would ever make me date her with her superficial attitude. And I feel that way about a lot of women. The slimmer the woman, the more likely I feel she'll be a stuck-up superficial bitch who worries more about clothes and hair and her LOOK than anything else.
And I sometimes find odd things attractive on a woman. For instance, boobs aren't a big thing for me and I perfer smaller ones. Asses can be nice but I still don't care that much. Hair on the other hand, sometimes I see a girl with hair that just drives me nuts because I think it's so pretty. Not that I won't date a girl because she doesn't have a certain type of hair, but I do find some hair types prettier.
And speaking of hair, I perfer brunettes and ravens (brown and black) over blondes. And speaking of blondes I should go into my Hefner Blonde rant, although I'll save the details for later. One of the things that bugs me in the ideal that blondes are more attractive which I think is bullshit. This is perpetuated by things like Hugh Hefner who ALWAYS has about 3 "girlfriends" dangling on him, ALL blondes, all with fake tits, all with fake perfect bodies. And I'm not such a man who worships Hefner as if he's fucking GOD of manliness, as if being manly and awesome means treating all "hot" women as sex toys. (But I said I'd rant more about this later).
In any case there are times a bunch of guys will all say "well this girl is the most perfect woman ever" and I'll think "Well, she's nice but only so-so to me, I've seen better." So my attractiveness skews away from the norm.
But I wonder why I can be judgemental and say "well this person is attractive and this person isn't." Genes? Hormones? Social conditioning/programming? The way my brain evolved? What makes me attracted to certain people? In the last entry gods_debrislinked to an article about scientific studies on attraction, about being attracted to someone with different genes. I actually read the same study in another magazine. I also read an article about how scientists had found the pheremone detector, standard in animals, in some human noses, although they're not sure it works. But if someone can be attracted to certain people due to smell... perhaps it does work. I do know that once I was gaga (pa pa pa poker face) over this one friend for no real reason. Could it have been pheremones or chemical messengers?
Well, us humans are still beasts and animals and we may be attracted to people for who knows what reasons, chemical or biological programming or whatever.
For all those women who feel less attractive for being overweight or not "thin", feel positive in knowing this: some guys do find bigger women attractive. I myself base it on a lot of things so I can't say I find just one body type attractive, but many men perfer bigger women. Plus, in many primitive tribes of South America and the Pacific Islands, the average woman is round, despite being a hunter/gatherer society and eating "healthy" and natural. Bigger women are more attractive being that they survive childbirth easier and if they're big that means they're eating well and can feed a child.
