This is what happened. They said I have attempted too many credits at the school. I appealed. The appeal failed.
This school only allows you to attempt or succeed in a certain number of credits before they cancel ALL financial aid. Notice I put "attempt" in bold. They don't care if you succeeded in passing the class, dropped out, or failed, just that you took the class.
Back when I was younger I would get a lot of free financial aid and would screw around a lot. Obviously to get such financial aid I had to take classes, but I would fail or drop classes left and right. One semester I failed all my classes and got put on probation.
ALL those failed and dropped classes go towards the total amount of credits I've taken, and once I exceed 90 total credits taken, whether I succeeded in the classes, failed them, or dropped them, they won't give me financial aid.
It's a shock they let me finish the certificate I was working on. But now that I finished said certificate in April, they're like "No more free money." Even though I gave them a specific plan of the 6 classes I'd take to complete a degree.
I do realize this was my fault for fucking around several years ago, even though now I've gotten nothing but As and Bs. It just sucks to think my previous mistake is haunting me now.
I guess my plans are to drop my current classes. Try to look everywhere for scholarships. And if I can get said scholarships, go finish my degree in the fall.
During the summer I should concentrate on finding a job and working a lot of hours. It's too bad the job market sucks and I can't just walk out and grab any job.
I guess this concern of mine about fitting work around my classes is a moot point now. I find it funny they were like giving me $1400 which would help with my bills as well as pay the $600 towards classes, and then they were like "Oh we just noticed you have above 90 credits sorry dude no money lolz."
