The Soup or bowl
Ha ha, was going to post this on Tuesday or something but didn't want to do it until I saw all commercials.
Uh, I'm not a huge football fan, but I have to say it's the one sport I watch more than pretty much any other sport.
And I was hoping the New Orleans Saints would win it, because they had never won the Superbowl let alone have been there. And after Katrina they needed the boost.
But after that onside kick, and that awesome interception, that allowed the Saints to take the lead to win it, I was rather happy for them. But seriously, after that onside kick where every player from each team was piling on top of the ball, even after the refs were telling them to get off, it was like the players were all like "OMG GAY ORGY PILE, MUST JOIN!!!"
Funny thing was my aunt's coworker's nephew was playing for the Saints.
As for commercials, I didn't see any that I thought was groundbreaking. I think I liked the movie trailers the best.
The movies I were most interested in were the new Airbender movie, which had a second trailer. Alice in Wonderland... omg... Robin Hood...
As for the Prince of Persia movie... dude, they made a movie out of a video game? With Jake Gyllenhaal as the protagonist? What's next, Tetris? With Russian actors? With Dschinghis Khan doing the music? LOL
Commercials I thought were cool:
- My favorite commercial was the Google one. Simple, but dawwwww-inspiring.
- The Green Police one was pretty funny as well. How many people would know that the song was a parody of Cheap Trick? Where can I get that song? @.@
- The Shamu bridgestone tire commercial was amusing too... no whales were harmed in the making of this insanity, we swear (Frat boys, on the other hand...)
- Loved the asteroid one as well.
Other semi-amusing ones included the emerald nuts one, Budweiser bridge one, the survivor spoof (has anyone noticed that people will do ANYTHING for a shitty beer in these commercials.. "YAY I LIKE TO DRINK PISS!!!"), the Simpsons one (I could tell it was a coke commercial pretty quickly, ha ha product placement!), The Kia "Giant toys" commercial (Someone said the red thing looked like a dildo), The Doritos Ninja, Bridgestone Tires or your wife!, Betty White football, and the little man with the Doritos.
- The chicken ones for Denny's Free Grand Slam Tuesday were kinda funny too. I went to the breakfast for the first time. Only waited 15 minutes to sit down, and was out of there by 40 minutes.
- The punchbuggy one was stupid, because you're technically only supposed to punch someone if you see a VW beetle.
- The E-trade ones with the babies were old last year. E-trade needs to think of something new. Old idea is old. (and no I'm not linking them)
- The Taco Bell $5 box ones make me never want to eat at Taco Bell ever again.
- The Griswalds hotel commercial was just sad. Chevy Chase will do anything for money (maybe even prostitute himself for gay sex).
So, a few nice ones, some so-so ones, some crappy ones, lots of meh ones. But lots of cool movies coming up.
