Missed LJ idol again
I forgot to post a topic for LJ idol. Last week I was too busy, and this week I just damn forgot, and only remembered while I was at work. Had I not been working I could have rushed something together.
Now I've used both my "bye" weeks, the times I can claim immunity and ask for a week off. This will make the game a lot harder.
Last week the topic was "Uphill both ways" and I would have written about how stubborn I can be through bad times (say, missing a bus and walking through cold rain to get to where I want to go rather than waiting somewhere warm for the next one), and how my life has often sucked but I've been stubborn enough to stick through it.
This week's topic was simply "Smile." I fricking thought of a good response when they were lowering grandpa into his cold dark hole in the ground yesterday. I was making bad jokes about it in my head, and I realized that I deal with difficult times by making jokes about the situation, in order to get people to smile instead of frown.
Ironically, while my aunt got lost at the rather confusing road layout around St. Louis airport and drove in circles (I think they built the terminals piecemeal and just added on as they went), I was laughing and snorting the whole time and making jokes.
Oh well.
