Room 407, Saturday Evening

Merlin was striking a model pose looking over the print outs of that portal business Tony had on his laptop. None of it made sense to him, but, through sheer bloody minded determination, he was trying anyway.

Surely, if it happened on it's own for the children, it couldn't be that hard, right?

After Chuck. So after Chuck. thatsamilkshake April 18 2009, 23:21:24 UTC
Francine had a brief thought, when she stood waiting for her order at Ching Tai, of taking dinner somewhere else entirely -- until reality kicked in and she remembered just how awkward that would be.

If the extra bag of crab rangoon didn't succeed in making her forget she ever had the thought in the first place, maybe the box of Chinese doughnuts would.

Needless to say, any knocking on Merlin's door? Done with her elbow.

"It's open," Merlin called, not looking up from the papers. He might have assumed Arthur had managed to stroll back on into the room even. Yes. Because lions knocked.

For certain values of open, yes. Francine ended up using her hip to nudge it open enough for someone not made of pipe cleaners to get through, and called over the top of the pile of boxes. "Hi. I, um. There's food." She was pretty much just guessing where in the room he was actually sitting.

"Francine!" Merlin was up and off his bed to help her with those in a flash. "Sorry, I thought you were Arthur."

Francine looked down at herself, then back up at Merlin. "I can see how you might get us mixed up."

"You didn't say anything and I thought--" Not helping. "Never mind. Would you like to sit down?"

"Sitting is good. Much better for eating Chinese food."

Taking a few of the boxes toward his bed, Merlin nodded for her to take a seat. "I don't think I've had any of this before."

"It's all cooked," Francine assured him, knowing -- and sharing -- his sushi issues.

"Oh, thank god," He said with a bit too much relief. "I'll never understand the raw bit."

"These are more like super-fried," Francine said, lifting various containers of rice, vegetables, and ...sauce-covered meat-and-noodle-things out of the nearest bag.

Francine colored a bit, but she gave him a small grin. "They're supposed to be shared."

With an invading Mongol army, apparently.

"Is this your way of getting me on a date?" Merlin asked, smiling again at the flush. "Because I'm certain we can have one out without turning into someone else."

"Or getting eaten?" Francine countered.
