Zoe's Office - June 10

Zoe was aware that it was Sunday, and that technically, she didn't have to be here. But she wanted to make sure that everything was in order for Hades and Drax to take over the school when she went out on leave. Maybe if she put enough things together, the idea of Hades being in charge would get easier to think about.

[For a certain phone caller.]

Yes, Cameron knew it was Sunday which was probably exactly why he picked this day to call the principal. It seemed fitting somehow and she was his faculty advisor so she should be aware what he was up to.

That was his theory and he was sticking with it.

Zoe only looked over at the phone for a moment before answering. "Hello?"

[cameronmitchell]

"It's Sunday, ma'am. You shouldn't be in your office," Cameron said automatically. It was true.

[bigdamndean]

Zoe smiled. "Maybe it's Sunday where you are, but it's Monday here." What, it was worth a shot.

[cameronmitchell]

Cameron raised an eyebrow. "Isn't it unethical to lie to a former student, ma'am?"

[bigdamndean]

"Yes, I suppose it is. But you can't blame me for trying," she replied, laughing. "How are you? Are you enjoying your freedom from school?"

[cameronmitchell]

"Yes, ma'am. Last day to enjoy it actually. I'll be starting the year tomorrow," he explained.

[bigdamndean]

"Already? It doesn't seem like that much time has passed. I'm sure you're ready though."

[cameronmitchell]

"A month," Cameron was still boggling a bit that it had been so long since graduation already. "Basic lasts through most of the Summer. Which means I'll be out of contact with everyone for a while and I won't be able to check if you're working too much, ma'am."

[bigdamndean]

"I'm not working too much," Zoe protested. "I'm working just enough to make sure the school won't fall apart at the end of the summer. More than it already has, of course."

[cameronmitchell]

"See? And that's because I've been checking," he joked.

[bigdamndean]

"Yes Cameron, it's been entirely your doing," Zoe deadpanned. "I don't know what I'm going to do without you checking up on me." That part might have sounded a little more sincere.

[cameronmitchell]

Cameron chuckled. "I can ask a stickbug brother to stand in for me?" he joked. "In all seriousness, it's good to hear the school is semi standing."

[bigdamndean]

"It is, yes. The construction crew is doing a good job." Zoe paused for a moment. You're going to have to come back and see it when it's finished."

[cameronmitchell]

Cameron grinned. "I believe I'll have to, ma'am. Probably not for Homecoming, though. I'll have to bug people to send me pictures."

[bigdamndean]

"I'm sure you won't have a problem there, unless something happens, and the pictures are too embarrassing for anyone to let go of."
