Zoe had been in Fandom long enough to be used to the way weird things usually worked: they started on Friday, and by Monday morning, everything was fine. So, she'd been utterly torn upon waking up and discovering that Grace was still there. On one hand, experience had shown her that things that went against the usual pattern weren't good. Rowan had spent the previous day running around, playing, and possibly eating his own weight in ice cream as he looked for his mommy and daddy. It didn't help that no one seemed to know his daddy when Rowan asked about him, and he was getting really frustrated until he saw the big tower-y building. It looked like an important place, so surely his parents would be there!

He wandered through the halls, peeking into all of the open doors and calling, "Mommy?" as though that would make her appear. When he finally got to Zoe's office, he squealed and ran inside. "Mommy, hi! I found you!"

Both Zoe and Grace looked up at the sound of Rowan's entrance, although surprisingly, Grace looked more bothered by his presence. "She's my Mommy, not yours!"

"Nuh uh! She's my Mommy!" Rowan went over and grabbed Zoe's hand, like he was laying a physical claim. "Mine!"

Grace immediately dropped her crayons and grabbed Zoe's other hand. "Mine!"

Marybeth managed to slip away from her father at some point and go 'sploring. Apparently she had inherited his genes, since she ended up at Zoe's office.

"Hi!" she waved, entering the room and smiling at the pretty lady behind the desk. She noticed the kids coloring and waved to them.

Both Grace and Rowan looked up and waved back. Rowan might have been a little more enthusiastic about his greeting.

"Hi," Zoe said cautiously. She hadn't been called Mommy yet, so that was a good sign. "Can I help you?"

"I'm 'sploring," Marybeth explained importantly. "This is where my mommy and daddy met!"

"You mean here at the school? That's so sweet," Zoe replied. "What's your name?"
