"You, my delightful, dear lady," Hades said, swooping in without knocking, "Must be the boss." He took a seat across from her. "Which would make me your..." He twitched just slightly as he said this. "Second in command."

All her time at Fandom still hadn't taught Zoe how to not stare at times. "If you're my second in command, you must be Hades?" she said.

"The hair might have been a clue," Zoe replied casually. "Have you been settling in all right?"

"Just peachy. I had office hours yesterday and it was like a Thracian marketplace with all the coming, going and crazy people. Some redhead gave me a fruit basket and the kid with the hair weirder than mine gave me a rubber duckie. His name is Herman."

"The rubber duck or the student with the hair?"

Hades had to think about that for a moment. "I didn't ask. Possibly both."

"Well...it's good that the students are making you feel welcome. You've got pretty big shoes to fill with them."
