That's in the Southcenter area. This is an old rail line that goes by a warehouse (the one on the near right) that I worked at back in 1993. It was leased by Boeing and was used by Boeing Computer Services to store computers and network gear. I spent 6 months there prior to my layoff in August 1993.

I used Photoshop to do a motion blur. I wanted to do something like this and thanks to the fact that the tracks were centered properly I got the desired effect. Not so with the others that I shot.

Yup, I was lucky enough to hop a boxcar to get this photo. ;-)

And you are driving a train. No need to worry, with the tilt-ups around the grade must be pretty slight, and it looks as if it will be uphill before long.

Good speed blur.

I really like how it came out! I tried this on a few others but it didn't look right.

So you were using PhotoShop? I've used 5.5 and 7 and learned a little, there's a lot there to learn.

I was using version 7. It's a very powerful program and I've barely scratched the service. The GIMP has been a good starting point. :)

oh my goodness. this photo is amazing. it makes me feel like i'm going to puke. i'm guessing that's the desired effect- to make you feel as though you are in motion?

Can you unlock this post so i can link to it from my lj and show everyone your talent.

Oh thanks!!! Yes, I'll do that in a moment. What i used was a motion blur with Photoshop. I really like how this came out. The fact that it does is because the tracks go right to the center of the photo where the vanishing point is located.

I still need to touch this up a bit with the brightness and contrast and then do this again.

This post is now unlocked!
