Yesterday was a surreal day. Not only did I play in my first Aussie Rules Football match, I met a bunch of guys from the SportsLogos.net boards at the Phillies Game. That was pretty awesome. But that's for the next post. (
This one is all about footy. )
Good luck! That is awesome that Aussie Rules is played here in the US. I just moved here in Feb. and I'm really missing the footy. Not sure if they have a team where I live (not that I would play it myself, since I'm a girl) but I love watching it. And it's not the same watching it at a Japanese bar - which is the only place that shows it here without us having to pay for Setanta Sports TV.
Anyway, good luck!

They do have women's footy, but to my knowledge the only teams are in Atlanta, Denver, and Phoenix. As for regular teams, I know that there is one in St. Louis and one in Kansas City. There's more info at USFooty.com. ^_^

Thanks for the link, will need to check it out.
Also, do you barrack for a particular Aussie team? Hawthorn Hawks perhaps? :)

And no, I don't want to talk about the final. Just too embarrassing! :D
Off topic, I noticed you're from Philly. We're coming to your area in a couple of weeks. I've never been out of MO but what is there to do in PA in general? Any places/sights I can't miss? We're driving and visiting family (they're from Downingtown or something like that) there for a few days.
Care to suggest anything/something worthwhile and can't be missed while we're in the area?

The downtown area is pretty good, as you've got the historical sites -- Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, the Constitution Center, all of that other stuff in one area. South Street and Penn's Landing are also good areas, the former has a lot of neat stores and restaurants and stuff. Center City is good for walking, there's some cool things around there, too, like... more restaurants and stuff. There's also the Art Museum (With the "Rocky" steps and "Rocky" statue), and the Franklin Institute, which is a big science museum. THere are also the Trolley Works and Ride the Ducks tours which will give you a nice tour of the city.
Aaaaand, depending on when you come, you might be able to take in the footy, be it a metro match or a Hawks game. When are y'all supposed to visit?
