Russell Crowe confirmed as Javert in Les Mis. I love the idea of he and Hugh Jackman squaring off as Javert and Valjean acting-wise, but can he sing well enough? Hugh definitely can, and I guess we'll find out if Rusty's got the pipes.

LOL at the comment discussion featuring people wanting or not wanting Lea Michele to be Eponine. "She is a horrible singer." Look, you can criticize Lea for many things, but as another commenter pointed out, if there's one thing she can do it, it's sing.

Speaking of Lea, Glee was back on this week? I'm so not ready for fall TV! I've been watching Life and loooooving it. Such a good show. I'm trying to make it last and not burn through it as I'd like to. I'm up to 205, and it's a bit of a shame they glammed up Sarah Shahi in S2. I mean, obviously she's a beauty, but I enjoyed that Reese didn't have perfectly coiffed curls and tailored outfits. Reeks of network intervention. Also, why did they get rid of Robin Weigert? Does anyone know? I like Donal Logue, but was surprised to see Robin gone (albeit with one guest shot so far).

I'm a whore for odd couple partners, and I loved Charlie and Dani's chemistry right away. Loved as well that they made her a recovering addict. Overall the show is a perfect mix of procedural case of the week and overarcing mystery. I really enjoy the interview device they use with the supporting characters.

Obviously I adore Damian Lewis v.v. much, but I also adore Charlie as a character. It can be hard to play quirk without being annoying, and Damian does it beautifully. Charlie's so damaged, but I love that he also takes joy in things such as fresh fruit and fast cars -- and fast women. Hey, after 12 years in the joint, he's due a few dozen one night stands!

I'm not keen on his ex-wife, and I dislike that he apologized to her (I think in early S2?). She owes him the apology! Fine to forgive her, but he didn't owe her anything, IMO.

Interesting relationship with Brooke Langton's lawyer. I enjoyed him running to her office in 105 after she got beat up. Hello, button pusher. Also enjoyed the scene where she confessed that she thinks about him when she's with her husband. :D They seemed to have backed way off that at this point, though. It seems like he might get back with his ex, but I hope not.

Oh, and I guessed right away that Jessy Schram was Rachel. I've watched TV before, after all.
