My local video store is really great for getting obscure titles, and I just went there after work and rented six movies, including four starring Ron Livingston. They keep the movies behind the counter, and Cute Video Store Boy went and retrieved them all.

i actually haven't watched all of it myself yet since i was always watching the black donnellys* at the same time and about to start on generation kill AND IT WAS A LOT OF VIOLENT SHOWS AT ONCE so i cut back but damian's character in it is lovely. and like just about everything with any of the actors in it, it's also a bit of band of brothers cast reunion. xD (michael cudlitz - bull in BoB - appears within the first few eps)

I've downloaded Life, and I'm looking forward to watching! I'm sure I'm going to love it. I've been saving it because I enjoy knowing that I have some good Damian waiting for me. *g*

I did see BD! I watched it when it aired. Good times.

oh man, i didn't see it until recently, after i'd seen BoB and TP, and my friend was like "KIRK ACEVEDO (who, i pretty much adore. his voice) AND KEITH NOBBS AND JAMES BADGE DALE ARE IN IT" and this was incentive enough to watch it, and it's actually ended up being one of my favorite shows, ever o: (despite the rage inducing NON-ENDING it has.) (...it's also the reason that when i did watch generation kill, i pretty much d'awwed at trombley even when he was being a creepy fuck because kevin was my favorite donnelly lmao.)

Yeah, I remember the ending of BD being totally unsatisfying, of course because they shitcanned it mid-stream. Le sigh. Kirk Acevedo is so good in everything. Oz, of course. I didn't know James at the time I watched BD, so I should take another look now. :)

oh man, do take another look! and then write kevin donnelly/joey ice cream fic :x (: because yes, i adore that show, haha.

and i haven't actually seen oz, though i've seen a lot of clips/etc of it on youtube -- i'm cautious about actually watching the show in its entirety because i know it's pretty intense, and intense/serious things don't exactly just roll off my back, so i've been a bit wary of it. but ugh, it does look quite well done.

Oz really has brilliant moments. It also got a little wacky in the later seasons (not in a fun way, but in a WTF is this storyline?? way). But overall I do recommend it, although "intense" is certainly a word for it! You have to go in basically expecting a terrible ending for everyone. Like, if a character lives to the end, that's a victory right there. There's a ton of murder, and rape and whatnot.

The actors are amazing, though. It is worth a look!
