I looked over on YouTube a couple of weeks ago for the introduction of Sonny. Justin and Adrienne were one of my favorite couples when I was in high school, so I was curious about their 'kid'. He seems like a nice mash-up of his parents traits, with a significant dose of early Justin (Justin was never an angst-filled character. He was basically a Prince Charming-esque type character).
I also saw some interviews with the actor playing Sonny and with Wally Kurth (Justin) from the Emmys. Kurth said the way it's been written, that Sonny is 'out'... at least to his parents. Both Justin and Adrienne know already and it makes no difference to them (which I was gladdened to hear because it means they are writing Justin and Adrienne in character). There may be some tension with Great-Uncle Victor, though. Vic doesn't know... yet.
I loved Justin and Adrienne as a kid. I'm so happy to see them again! :)
Sonny told Victor yesterday. Victor is afraid Sonny will get bashed or have a harder life, and Sonny was all, Yes, and you've had such a drama-free life being straight. Ha! It was really good. And Justin and Adrienne told Maggie about how Sonny came out to them, and I thought the writers did a fantastic job with it.
I admit, I was worried. Days writing can be so OOC. I was just afraid they'd go for manufactured drama. But given the characters I knew while growing up, there should be nothing on this earth that would have Adrienne anywhere on her baby's side. And Justin is just not the guy to get hung up on this. I was relieved that they wrote them in character. And Sonny really does come off as if he could be Justin's son. Nice casting.

Actually, given your track record, you'd be doing us a favour by hating Will and Sonny, since that will guarantee their future happiness. ;P
