Wonder Woman is not Bruce Wayne, kthx
Okay, let's talk about how hackmaster extraordinaire David E. Kelley is turning Wonder Woman into Batman:
TV’s new Wonder Woman will have Palicki playing no less than three “roles”:
• The titular crimefighter, “reinvented” here as an L.A.-based vigilante
• Alter ego No. 1: Diana Themyscira, a mega-billionaire CEO
• Alter ego No. 2: Diana’s “plain Jane” assistant, Diana Prince. (Good luck with that one, makeup and wardrobe!)
A mega-billionaire CEO? So she's a female Bruce Wayne? And she's...her own assistant? Wha? How? Why? This makes zero sense. Love the casting of Adrianne Palicki, of course, but I have no confidence in DEK. Ugh, I hate his shows. So...precious and cutesy and fucking annoying. Would love for this to be the exception.
One of my good friends is a Wonder Woman expert (he has a huge collection of WW items and seriously knows everything there is to know about her), and he's shappalled by DEK's concept, saying among other things: "This completely flies in the face of Wonder Woman’s roots. Amazons are not driven by material wealth and greed." He added, "Oh, I will totally watch it. You know how much I enjoy hating things." Hee.
