Man, that's kinda what it's like when we get heavy snow in Ireland, which happened a couple of months ago, 'cause it's very unusual and we're not equipped for it. (Although, a lot more people are equipped for it after this winter.) Your never having had a snow day blows my mind.

But we ARE equipped for it! I understand the hysteria much more when it snows in the UK or Ireland where they don't have the plows, etc.

So funny for an area where it's such a common occurrence.

Down here it's thunderstorms. For heaven's sake. They interrupt my TV shows to warn us and talk about a big thunderstorm heading our way. So annoying. Hurricanes are another matter though. I do understand the media coverage where those are concerned, but people need to not panic.
