I'm so happy Glee was picked up for the whole season. Last week's episode was quite weak and the storytelling was so choppy and rushed, but I thought tonight was a huge improvement. Look, character development! Plot twists that aren't being played for laughs! Huzzah!

Man, Finn breaking down in Will's arms was so unexpected and touching. I kind of sat up straighter on the couch when I realized they were actually having a serious moment of angst and emotion. This is a very welcome development, and I love the twist of...Matt? Is low-hawked guy named Matt? Anyway, of that guy being the father. I do love the melodrama! I still don't love the Terri storyline, since I don't see how on earth she can fake a pregnancy and keep it from her husband. But I guess we'll see.

So glad Jenna Ushkowitz got the chance to sing tonight, even if she had to be too sharp. I really hope we get to see her solo down the road and have it be awesome.

I was a bit sick of "Single Ladies" by the end, but I did enjoy all the dance sequences quite a bit. Kurt's scene with his dad was really sweet and lovely. It's weird to me that his dad is so blue collar, though. Didn't Kurt have some fancy car that Mercedes threw a brick into it? Eh, whatever. I'm hoping this episode marks a turning point for the show in terms of pacing and storytelling. I'm very pleased that the Rachel thing wasn't all solved in one episode, as has been the trend.

Matthew Morrison in that coat and scarf at the football game = YUM. Nice hug with Emma, too. I hope they build that nice and slowly over the season.

I haven't talked about it lately, but how freaking fantastic is Mad Men this season? DAMN. It's so good! I could watch Don Draper in waiting rooms all day long. I know some people think it's too slow, but I love the subtlety. Also, once in a while it makes you sit up and scream, "HOLY FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!" at your TV.

I had a feeling something was about to happen with the lawn mower, but I didn't expect the Brit to have his foot eviscerated!!! "He'll never play golf again." Whoever wrote that line deserves next year's Emmy right now. Perfectly cold.

Also, when Peggy swooned and Pete caught her, it made me swoon. *draws fangirly hearts*

Joan must find a way to come back, kthx. Christina Hendricks is so awesome. Also, Sally Draper has been killing it this season. I love that kid! I love them all.

In other quick TV thoughts, still enjoying Vampire Diaries WAY more than I thought I would. I'm a bit displeased that Steven McQueen apparently spent the time between the pilot and first episode pumping iron and bulking up way too much to be playing a 15-year-old, but that does seem to be the CW way. (Jared Padalecki and his bulging muscles are a bad influence!) Still, I quite enjoy him a lot, and also Zach Roerig. He was good on FNL as Tyra's rodeo bad boy, and I really like him here. Since Nina Dobrev is a Toronto/Degrassi girl, we go back, and I've always liked her. Paul Wesley is very enjoyable, and Somerhalder is stealing mittens with aplomb. I do find myself more drawn to the supporting characters than the three leads, though.

Finally, last week's Supernatural was SO much better than the premiere. The premiere was fine, but this episode rocked. From the flatbread to Ellen and Jo to one of the Horsemen, I was completely entertained. I'm also v.v. relieved that Sam's demon blood addiction hasn't just been hand-waved by God and is still a major issue. Phew!
