The Monster World
Monsters, Inc. is a movie about the monster world. Monsters of all different kinds of shapes and forms live in a regular city (Monstropolis) that could easily pass for a human city were it not for all the monsters walking around instead of people. Monsters, Inc. is also the name of a scare factory. Here, certain monsters called 'scarers' go through doors that are plugged into a special mechanical frame that open a doorway between the monster and human world. They go straight from the factory to childrens' closets in the human world. Monsters scare the kids, kids scream, the scream energy is contained and then the monsters use that energy as their electricity.
Sulley
In the movie, James P. Sullivan aka "Sulley" (voiced by John Goodman) is the top scarer who works with his buddy/assistant Mike Wazowski (voiced by Billy Crystal). I won't spoil the movie, but stuff happens. Funny how that happens in a movie, huh?
For the purposes of this game, Sulley is 16 years old and hasn't become a scarer yet. He's not as big as he is as an adult (but he's still huge), he's not the great scarer he'll one day train to be (but he's working on it) and, unfortunately for him, now he's stuck in the human world with no way home.
Monsters and Humans Aren't BFFs
Monsters are raised to believe that humans are toxic and that one touch from a human child will kill a monster. Of course, some monsters think that humans have mind control powers and shoot lasers from their eyes. There are a lot of urban legends going around the monster world.
After meeting Karal and Altra last night, Sulley isn't sure about the whole 'humans are toxic' thing, but he's still very spooked around humans and being around them all the time is going to take some getting used to. Thankfully, he's a flexible guy. He might act spooked around your character at first, but talking generally seems to calm him down.
If your character is the type to shoot first, ask questions later, please email me before actually attacking him. I'd like to be prepared for that since he's still convinced that humans are going to want to cut him up and experiment on him.
