Does anybody else get as uncomfortable as i do when it comes to talking to a girlfriend's or boyfriends (if your a girl) parents?
I need input, cause i get extremely uncomfortable and quiet and i never know what to say and because i want to make the best impression possible, i at times feel like im better off not saying anything. If i say the wrong thing, they get the wrong impression and im screwed. Not to mention, what the hell do you say to one's parents? Its not like theyre my age. But i cant seem to win cause when i dont say anything, then im "too quiet." For some reason, in this day and age, "too quiet" is a problem i guess. It makes people uncomfortable. In this day and age, people have apparently forgotten that "being shy" is a personality trait that some people are born with and stuck with for their entire life and they really cant do a damn thing about it. Studying psychology for the little bit of time i have, ive learned that the best way to break someones shyness, is to initiate the conversation. A naturally reserved, quiet person isnt gonna just start blabbing around people they arent comfortable with. You have to make them feel comfortable and open them up by starting the conversation. If you arent willing to do so, well, you arent gonna get very far with that person.
I would like at least ONE comment with some positive input cause i cant imagine that im the only one out there that feels this way, but then again, maybe i am? who knows....
leave em.
