So I just found out the first of the effects of Bush's plans on Ft. Drum tonight.
3rd brigade, the brigade that has been in Afghanistan for the year, is either being sent back if they were lucky enough to make it home already, or they're not coming home. This will be at LEAST four months of an extended tour in Afghanistan.
So far, this is the only effect for Drum, but I have a heavy heart and I fear that this will only be one of many. Meaning that Mike's tour might be extended, as well. Or something equally unappealing and unfathomable. I'm having a hard enough time with a YEAR, what would I do if I were one of those men or women waiting for the people they love to come home only to be told that I'd have to wait at least another four months? It just makes me cringe to think about it.
