I'm getting tired of my job, and I'm thinking about trying to find something better. Though anything better might require a few years of schooling, but who knows. I'm not just looking for jobs in my area though, I'm trying to find... well, anything thats good pay anywhere. I'm not sure if I want to stay in Illinois anymore. Its getting way to expensive, and soon I wont be able to get a decent 2 bedroom apartment on just my salary. Plus, my job is against raised I guess, since I've been hounding them about one for the past 3 months and have seen no results. I'm not the only here asking for a raise either, there are other people who have been here longer, or have taken one someone elses job as well as theirs because that one person quit (like what I did). I'm trying to find cheap places to live, hopefully out east. I cant really stand living out here, with prices for living skyrocketing almost every month. My biggest hope lately, is trying to contact Blizzard to see if they have any jobs availiable. Blizzard is a game company that has produced games like Warcraft and Diablo, and many others as well. Lately, I've been brainstorming trying to come up with a whole script, characters, monsters, and stuff for a game series that the produce.... which may or may not be in production already. I figure if I can get a job there, perhaps my wide knowledge of fantasy gaming, history, and my exceptionally large immagination will help me get some kind of job in developement over there. Though it will probably hurt my chances since I know next to nothing about graphic design and computer animation. I'm hoping that sometime soon I can go to school for that though, and learn animation and stuff like that. This is the kind of job I would absolutely love, taking my detailed ideas and putting them into an actual game. Though, I might have to settle for simple little direct mail jobs and data entry and IT jobs till then, at least I can try. I need to get out of this hella expensive town and try and start a whole new life for me and my wife. Sure, I'd leave some friends and family, but we are young still, and we always have phone and email to keep in touch. Besides, I'm sure our friends and family wouldnt mind taking a vacation somewhere and having a free place to stay for a few days.
But anyways, can people please help me out with pricing areas to live? Let me know where you live, and the going rates of 2 bedroom apartments, condos, or even houses. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
