(no subject)
this weekend was a lot of fun:
1.canoe trip for tony's bachelor party.
2.projecting pan's labyrinth in the living room
3.hanging out with tonia and her mother and little nephew
4.falling asleep watching the fountain
1.)the canoe trip was amazing. i probably should have researched and planed better but that would just not be me. the first campsite where i had a reservation at had us "camping" next to rv's! lame. so we left that place and went to several others before settling in this nice seamingly secluded place. we chugged a beer, set up camp and jumped in the river. i got drunk supper quick and me and lexie floated around in this raft dusin had brought along. you know "fat guys in a little boat". when we came out of the river we had neighbors to either side. there was this lesbian couple to one side of us who we real motherly toward us, but they got annoying. one would yell "whoodee whoo!" evertime a canoe passed by. after the 1000000000000th time i was supper annoyed. the trip down the river was awesome though. it was surisingly relaxing. i was partners with tony. we only flipped once! last time the river beat my ass! fun times. i hope all 6 of us get to do it again.
2.) we watched pan's labyrinth after we got back. awesome. what else can i say about that?
3.) yesterday i was sitting at the house bored out of my mind. i was calling people to drink with me or just do something. tonia responded first and was like come to grenada lake with me. so i went. i spent the day with her, her mom, and her little nephew jacob (he is like2). usually i would feel awkward, but i never did even once. i was surprisingly comfortable around her family and even help keep jacob clean when the ice cream tonia got him got all over his hands. she is obviously comfortable with me since she doesn't involve her friends with her family. it was nice. we were supposed to go to the lake but it was closed due to low water or something like that so no swimming for us. this trip also let me know that i do want to be a father one day, but not for a very very long time. i think i will make an awesome dad!
4.) last night i fell asleep watching the fountain. how appropriate. we were supposed to watch it in the history of sci fi film class i took, so why not fall asleep?
last night my step-dad called asking me to come over. i asked him what was wrong and he said it was my mom. she had just found out her father had died. my grandfather. i never meet him, because him and my mom had a "falling-out" after her mother died when she was really young. over the last few years they have slowly became reacquainted. she still hasn't seen him in many years and she will not be at the funeral.
