Btw, no smut. Felt awkward for a first time thing. (Pretty crappy, but I'm working on it. ;D)
JiYong was sitting in his chair trying to find the lyrics that would fit the melody that was in his head. Oh baby, don’t cry lady. Don’t forget…our love? No... Don’t forget…don’t forget…Gah, why are finding the right words so hard? With a sigh of defeat, he got up from his seat to look for some sort of inspiration. After 5 minutes of searching around his room, all he found was a pair of dirty socks under his bed that he forgot to dump into the hamper last night. Sighing again, he decided that it was useless, so he went to get something from the kitchen to eat. Maybe some brain food would help him with his problem at hand.
Now with a box of cookies in his hand, he sat back down to continue with his songwriting. Don’t forget…me…my…our…that…that promise…that promise…of ours! Don't forget that promise of ours! Giddy with joy over his accomplishment, JiYong didn’t even notice the door to their hostel opening or closing. Nor did he notice YoungBae’s shadow that passed through the hallway. Nor did he notice when YoungBae slowly walked up to him from behind until he stood right behind him.
YoungBae couldn’t help but feel aroused at the sight in front of him. He stood there for a while, admiring the young man’s hands that were so fast at work on the paper, and how he wanted those same hands around his-…JiYong suddenly stopped writing. Apparently frustrated at himself for being stuck with his lyric making again, he sat back and closed his eyes to try to think better. “I’ll take care of you…forever? No, too little syllables. I’ll take care of you…” he mumbled to himself in an attempt to get results from talking to himself.
YoungBae leant over his chair and whispered into his best friend’s ear, “Until whenever.”
JiYong jumped and shot his eyes open, “Aish! YoungBae, you could’ve told me you were back. You scared me. Make some more next time.”
“Well, I didn’t know anyone was home until I saw the light in your room, since you guys were supposed to be at a party tonight. You guys shouldn’t have left me to work while you guys went off to have fun,” YoungBae chuckled.
JiYong scoffed, “Psh, who told you to release your solo album so early anyway?”
“Tch, whatever,” YoungBae said as he made his way to the bathroom to take a shower. “Kwon Leadah should take care of himself more when it comes to rest. Those dark circles under your eyes wouldn’t match your style.”
JiYong couldn’t think of a comeback before YoungBae closed the bathroom door, so he gave up and decided to continue his song. I’ll take care of you…until whenever. That actually sounds nice. With that said, JiYong sat back down and continued writing down the rest of the song that seemed to just flow out of his mind and onto the paper.
Halfway through the second verse, he just couldn’t focus anymore. The only thing that was on his mind was…YoungBae. Slightly irked by the way he felt toward his lifelong friend, he laid down on his bed to try to clear up his mind. He wanted YoungBae as more than a friend…more like a lover.
JiYong jumped again when the bed shifted slightly under YoungBae’s weight when he jumped onto the bed. “YoungBae! What the-…you should-…”
“Gosh, Ji. You really need to lighten up. Why’re you so easily scared nowadays anyway? Something wrong?”
YoungBae grew even more concerned when JiYong answered quickly, a bit too quickly. “Nothing’s wrong. Now leave me alone.”
“Are you sure, you know you can trust me.”
JiYong glared at him, but his glare faltered when he took a good look at his friend. YoungBae was naked from the waist up, with only a towel and a big smile on. It took all of his self-control to keep himself from feeling on the abs that were right next to him. “Y-yes, now go back to your room and rest up before your performance tomorrow.”
“Okay…but if you need me, I’ll be in my room,” YoungBae replied with a wink.
As soon as he heard the door to his room close, he let out the breath he was holding in. When did these new feelings for his friend start forming? Sighing, JiYong got back up from his bed to go back to his desk where he somehow knew he wouldn’t be able to focus after being so close with his friend.
JiYong slowly walked down the dark hallway to YoungBae’s room to ask for some help with his song, but as he raised his hand to knock on the door, the door swung open. The sight in front of his eyes made JiYong’s jaw drop. Lying down on his bed with only his boxers on, YoungBae was listening to his iPod.
“Did you need something, Ji?”
He barely managed to stutter out, “Y-y…yes. Um...” What did I need again? “Could I sleep in your room tonight, hyung? I think I saw a spider in my room.”
“Sure…if you want,” YoungBae replied as he scooted over.
JiYong lied down next to YoungBae and just enjoyed being with him. Before JiYong would just lie there until he fell asleep to the sound of YoungBae’s breathing, but this time, he wanted oh so much more from him than just his calm presence. But JiYong couldn’t tell him about his feelings, not now, when their friendship would be at stake.
Sad about this particular thought, he was surprised when YoungBae slipped a hand under his waist to pull him closer. JiYong enjoyed this simple embrace even if he wanted more. He loved how warm YoungBae’s body was behind him, how hot his breath was on his neck, and how hard the pressure was on the back of his leg…wait, what? This can’t be…what’s happening…does he love me, too?
“I’m sorry about how I can’t control my body. It’s just that…you’re so hot, Ji. I love you…more than a friend, but it’s okay if you don’t return my feelings. Just let me hold you this one last time before we act awkwardly toward each other once you walk out,” YoungBae confessed into his hair.
JiYong was on the verge of tears, but he knew he had to tell YoungBae about his own feelings before the connection they shared was broken. “You…love me, too?”
YoungBae tensed up, “There’s someone else that loves you, isn’t there? I wouldn’t be surprised.”
“No! That’s not what I meant!” JiYong turned around to look YoungBae in the face. It was hidden in darkness, but somehow, he knew that YoungBae had a frown on. “I love you, too. But are you sure about this?”
Surprised by JiYong’s reply, YoungBae couldn’t answer, so he just held him closer. JiYong’s body against his felt much better now that they knew that they both had the same feelings toward each other. Maybe their relationship would evolve into something more sensual, but for now, a simple hug would suffice.
The presence of each other helped them fall asleep soon after, but JiYong could have sworn that YoungBae whispered something before his breathing grew steadier as he fell asleep. It took JiYong several minutes before he finally realized what he said. It was a simple saying, but JiYong thought it was perfect for his song. Grabbing a notepad that was conveniently on the floor, he wrote down the line that would be added to his lyrics in the morning. After he was done, he cuddled up against YoungBae and dozed off to the steady heartbeat of his friend and lover.
Even still, with your trust we can only be forever.
