Summary: Seungri ponders on how to decrease the awkwardness between him and T.O.P.
a/n: Well... This is my first big bang fanfiction and my first fiction on LJ! Also my first oneshot! Popping three cherries at once! Whoo~ Anyways, this is inspired by Happy Share Company episode with Seungri v. Yoona, cause that part with Seungri and T.O.P. acting awkward was just so cute! 8D So um... enjoy? Seungri has always been awkward with Suenghyun.
It wasn't like they didn't get along. If they didn't, their group dynamic would be all messed up.
But Seungri never clicked with Seunghyun like he did with the others. Daesung and he were both the newer, goofier ones of the group so they just played around a lot. Youngbae was really dependable and would always help him if he asked. Jiyong always teased him and was very playful, plus he was their leader.
With Seunghyun, it was like they couldn't talk about anything. Seungri was also the youngest in the group while Seunghyun was the oldest. Sometimes Seungri felt like the only thing they had in common was their names.
It wasn't just him that noticed that he and Seunghyun were awkward around each other. The other members of Big Bang did too. They even went as far to point it out when he was on Happy Share Company. Seungri just wanted to do something for his hyung since he was working so hard on his drama.
Being left alone with Seunghyun was one of the most awkward ones that they'd ever experienced. And there had been a few already.
Like that time they fought over the last piece of the Baskin Robbin's ice cream cake Big Bang was given as a reward for doing such a great job with the commercials.
Being the polite, mature, childish boys they were, they ate the cake whole, all grabbing a fork and digging in. With only one bite left, both the Seunghyuns stabbed at the last piece before both backing off, insisting the other have it. The other members of Big Bang just watched, mostly amused. Daesung, the ever-smiling angel, just grinned at their continued banter. Youngbae smiled, but also wondered if they'd stop. Jiyong was cracking up before he stabbed the cake himself and and popping it in his mouth, matter-of-factly. Seunghyun just stared at him before he broke into a laugh and Seungri stood up indignantly, yelling at his leader for taking the last piece of cake! Jiyong had him in a headlock soon after that and he was begging him to stop. At least that broke the awkward moment.
Really though, he wouldn't be wondering about any of this if it weren't for the fact that right now only he and Top-hyung were left in the apartment. Jiyong had suggested that they go out somewhere since this was a rare day of rest. Sadly Seungri felt like he was coming down with something, and made the slightest sneeze that made their leader order him to stay home and rest, lest he end up with something even worst. He pouted at the thought of being left alone but when Seunghyun said 'I'll stay and keep maknae company.' he bit his lip instead. Seungri had a feeling tonight would be added to the top of the 'Awkward moments with Top-hyung' memories.
Now they both just sat on the couch Seungri, curled up with a blanket on one end of the couch, and Seunghyun on the other end, just watching some variety show on T.V.
“So.” They both said.
“No you go first!” Again.
It was quiet again as the awkwardness set in. Seungri couldn't take the silence anymore and just asked the question that had been nagging at him.
“Hyung... Why did you volunteer to stay behind?”
Seunghyun looked at Seungri with his 'are you serious?' look. “Weren't you listening maknae? To keep you company.”
“Oh.”
Silence reigned between them for the second time that night.
“Why?”
Seunghyun again just looked at his maknae with that same look. “Because you would've been lonely right?”
“Oh.”
Seungri couldn't help but smile. Top-hyung had really stayed behind just for him. Somehow he felt really special. He felt the awkwardness dissolve right away and all he could do was think about how his hyung was so great.
Seunghyun didn't even notice anything amiss until he got an armful of maknae. “Hyung~ You're so cool!” Seungri grinned and nuzzled his head against Seunhyun's shoulder. The elder only laughed and placed an arm over Seungri's body, pulling him to a more comfortable position. “Of course I am.”
For a while after that, Seungri felt like it was his goal to make sure his hyung knew how much he appreciated him. And this way, they could also decrease the awkwardness between them.
During interview shows, Seungri would sit closer to Top and cling to him more. He'd hug his hyung randomly at times because he though he looked really cool at that moment. After dance practices, he'd hand his hyung the first bottle of water.
He wasn't trying to be subtle about it either. Seungri was openly displaying his newfound affection to his hyung. Jiyong hand cornered him a bunch of times and asked him what was up, and all he replied was 'Hyung is really cool that's why!' To which Jiyong then replied by putting Seungri into a headlock and claiming that he was being insubordinate with his other hyungs.
Eventually it seemed that Top-hyung also thought that wasn't a good enough reason and confronted him about it one day after dance practice, when they were about to head out to eat.
“Maknae, come here for a second. I want to talk to you.”
Seungri all but skipped over to Seunghyun and smiled at him. “What is it hyung?”
“You've been especially...” Seunghyun waved his hand around, looking for a good word. “Nice to me lately.”
Seungri quirked his head confusedly. “Really?”
“Yes, and I want to know why. None of that bullshit about me being really cool either.”
He pouted. Why couldn't he be nice to his hyung just cause?
The maknae thought about it for a moment. “Because I want to show hyung I care. And I want us to be less awkward around each other.”
Seunghyun was quiet for a long time. Seungri thought that Top-hyung had accepted his answer. He was about to speak before Seunghyun seemed to come closer to him. Unconsciously, Seungri backed away until he was against the wall, and Seunghyun was only a foot away from him.
“Do you know why I'm always awkward around you Seungri-ah?”
Seungri shook his head.
Before Seungri could even blink, Seunghyun had his face in his large hand and his lips were pressed against the rappers. It was chaste, and over before it had even started.
“That's why.” Seunghyun said lowly and stepped farther away from him. “Please, don't get so close to me. I don't want to break up Big Bang.” Even while his mind was on autopilot, Seungri though Seunghyun's voice sounded so sad.
As his hyung left the room, Seungri slid to the floor and his hand touched his lips as the impact of what had happened finally set in.
Seunghyun had kissed him. He had kissed him.
A blush appeared on Seungri's face.
What did that mean? Did his hyung like him? Like really like him? Was he awkward around him when they were alone together because he liked him? How did he feel about that? How did he feel about that kiss?
Slowly, Seungri got up and walked to the canteen were the rest of the group was. He sat down and continued to contemplate these questions. When he didn't eat anything, the other members of Big Bang were a little worried about what had happened, and Top seemed to be avoiding looking at Seungri too.
All throughout the car-ride home, the awkwardness between Seungri and Seunghyun had not only returned but increased ten-fold.
When they got back to the apartment, Seunghyun went to his room quickly and Seungri just sat on the couch idly, still thinking. The others were a bit worried, but seemed to get the feeling that Seungri needed some space.
After some time Seungri finally got up and knocked on Seunghyun's door. When there was no answer, Seungri opened the door and saw his hyung with headphones on, blasting the music up, as if to drown out everything around him.
He walked closer to Seunghyun and tapped him on the shoulder. Seunghyun turned around quickly and took off his headphones. When he saw who it was, he looked away, anywhere but at Seungri.
There was silence for a few moments. Seunghyun was going to speak but his maknae beat him to it.
“I didn't hate the kiss.” He replied simply.
Seunghyun looked up and saw Seungri blushing and looking away embarrassedly. He couldn't help but smile at how cute his maknae looked.
Seungri was going to say something else when his hyung didn't speak. He never got the chance to when his hyung pulled him down into another kiss.
He didn't hate this kiss either.
