Long time since an update, but hey, this is probably the second-biggest announcement I'll make this year (following the birth of my son this May)...
At long last, the first issue of HyperSonic will be made available to the masses. The book will be officially premiering next week at
MegaCon in Orlando, Fla., where Shannon will be selling copies in the Artists' Alley. Shannon will be there Saturday, Feb. 28, and Sunday, Mar. 1, sharing a table with artist Derrick Fish in the Grey 3.
And for those of you guys who live closer to me here in the Midwest, don't despair. The following weekend, I'll be appearing at
HurleyCon 2 in Joplin, Mo., on Saturday, Mar. 7, also with copies of the debut issue for purchase. You'll find me sharing a table with Plot Twist Comics and Collectibles, a fledgling new business venture headed up by my brother-in-law and sister-in-law. The book comes with a blank inside back cover, in which I'll happily do a free sketch for each purchase. (And Mariel's tentatively planning on being there if you want to see if you can feel the baby move. ;) )
Each of us have at least one further convention appearance following these, myself at
Planet Comicon in Overland Park, Kansas on Mar. 28 and 29, and Shannon at
FX International, also in Orlando, on Apr. 17-19. Please note that Planet Comicon will likely be my final convention appearance of 2009 due to my son's impending birth.
Plus,
Project Fanboy just posted a very positive review of HyperSonic #1, and will be interviewing Shannon at MegaCon about the book. (FYI: anyone directed here from the review can find the color pages of the book in the Sequentials area).
Hope to see you all in the coming weeks.
