I can't say that I felt one particular way at any given moment as the motorbike slipped its way through the relatively quiet streets of Sunnydale as I set out to find Faith. Better to say that I was feeling random combinations of emotions. I was dubious and hopeful at the same time, wary, nervous and anxious about confronting this person who at

"Woah.. Wes," I chuckled, raising my eyebrows as as I brought the stake down to my side. I had to admit it was kinda awkward runnin' into him like this. I wasn't really expecting him to be five by five with me.. not like I could blame him much anyway. ".. wicked wheels."
I crossed my arms over my chest, trying not to seem too surprised. "What brings you to this part of town?"

That was about all I was able to manage before I had to swallow past my suddenly dry throat. I cut off the bike's engine and lowered the kickstand. "I, ah, I was looking for you."
Her body language was only slightly changed from how I remembered her-- the self-assured casualness was still there, but not the stand-offishness-- the confidence that took only a nudge to turn into arrogance.
I shook my head, reminding myself of the job that had to be done.
"Do you have some time? I'm looking for a bad cop."

"I, ah, I was looking for you."
I paused for a second as I eyed him. Looking for me? I figured he'd go to B if he really needed a slayer to do some work for him. Oh well. I'm not complaining.. after all, my life was at a bore and I needed to do somethin' before I went insane.
"Do you have some time? I'm looking for a bad cop."
"Yeah, I got it." I simply answered, shrugging my shoulders lightly. I approached him slowly yet I halted myself to keep enough distance in between. I couldn't help but grin again as I watched him.. I could almost see this wasn't too easy for him.

"I don't know if you've noticed the rise in supernatural activity lately. It's exceptional, even for Sunnydale. We need to find out what's going on, and I could use someone with a little more menace than I have to help with questioning some informants. Are you interested?"

Normally I would've asked for somethin' in return but I am playing by the 'good guy' rule now. Not that I'm complaining much, it's kinda nice not having to worry about one of the Scoobies or one of soulboy's gang gettin' ready to plan against me. I'll never admit it, but I knew working for the Mayor was going to be my downfall. They always win.
I straightened myself slightly, my eyes watching Wesley's for a long moment before I took a breath in. "Yeah.. whatever," I muttered with a placid expression, "not much room to turn down anyway. Why don't you give me the sitch?"
I heard rumors.. but not too much. Ever since my breakout B hasn't really had the chance to give me the scoop on what is going on.. if she even knows.

I definitely cleared my throat. "Something or someone has opened a portal inside the bar, and all attempts thus far have failed to close it. On an approximate twenty-four hour cycle, the portal expels an entity from another dimension-- possbily even other realities."
"We need to find out what the less reputable elements in Sunnydale might know about this portal-- what's come through it so far, and how we can shut it down. I realize it's a lot of intelligence gathering, but we will be applying muscle whenever necessary. I don't think this portal is something to be left open for very long."
I moved forward on the motorbike's seat, making room.
"I'd offer you a helmet, but I'm afraid Angel broke it. That's a man who doesn't like pink, I assure you."

How touching. Humans and Demons comin' together like one big happy family.. boy, Sunny-D changed more than I imagined. I seriously needed to catch up on things. "How sweet is that.." is all I could comment through my dry chuckle, not even being able to imagine such a place. Too bad it was a haven, that would've been a good spot to hunt out some demons when I felt a little.. testy.

"No, I suppose it wouldn't be, but black is getting a little cliche."
I dropped, and the bike roared to life. It was a good sound. The motorbike was a Triumph, and even after the years I've spent in the States, I liked having a British machine to rely on. We drove out of the cemetary in (relative) silence. Faith's arms tightened around my chest and I was suddenly aware that the last time she was this close to me, she was holding a broken piece of glass and threatening to continue torturing me with it. The bike tipped slightly as I shook my head to clear out the memory.
"Sorry," I tried to shout backwards.
It was only a few minutes before we arrived at our first port of call this evening-- Willie's Bar. I stopped the bike, and chained it to the sturdiest thing I could find.

I allowed that comment to slide as my thought was broken by the rumbling sound of the engine. I was always a sucker for bikes.. not to mention I always loved the feeling of having real power between my legs.
"..." It was awfully silent during the ride.. I didn't have much to say. It wasn't long though before I realized that I was holding wicked close so I pushed myself back a bit to give a bit more room. I seriously didn't mean to do that. It was like our thoughts were almost intuned because my own mind began to think back about everything I've done for him.. damn.
"Sorry."My grip tightened even more as the bike tipped and I eyed him curiously. "No problem." I said while I took in a breath. Good.. we're almost there. As soon as the bike stopped I hopped myself off, my eyes lifting toward the outside of Willie's. "Shoulda expected we were comin' here," I chuckled, "although I would've expect from someone like yourself to head to the root of all these problems.. ( ... )
