Tonight was quite a night.
Jenny and I decided to go to the mall before we went to see Sweeney Todd tonight to get some last minute shopping done. So we step into the food court and I glance to my left and out of the corner of my eye, I see Will wearing the shirt that I always loved on him, a black and grey striped number that clung to his lithe form beautifully. I gasped and turned away whispering hurriedly to Jenny to hurry because it was my ex. It was strange, it's been almost a year since I last saw him and 2 since we broke up (god..has it really been that long?) yet, he can still make my heart pound in my throat in a way noone else has since. I couldn't breathe. I couldn't think. I could only run. It fucked me up for a good bit. I've thus sworn never to fall in love again no matter what my mom says. I only need one person in my life who has that sort of my life.
So yeah, I was messed up for a bit, but got over it as we goofed of in the men's fragrances section (I wanted to get my step dad some cologne for Christmas) and then we got bubble tea and smoothies. I've decided that Strawberry Bubble Tea pretty much the best flavor ever. You guys should get it next time you go to the Owing Mills mall.
So after drinks we rushed off to the theater and get our tickets and we go into the screen room for Sweeney Todd and IT WAS A MADHOUSE! I don't understand it. If you see that it's a packed house and more people are coming in, why do people not try to move in closer to each other so that other people can sit? Seriously, noone is not going to take it upon themselves to reach their hand into you popcorn bag because you sit directly next to them./rant
In any case, Sweeney Todd was AMAZING. I could go on for quite some time on this movie, but I think I need to let it all sink in overnight, but I would like to mention that while the movie is really good, keep in mind that it is a musical, in particular a Sondheim musical meaning that there is A LOT of singing and if that is not your cup of tea this movie may not be for you. Also, if you are very sensitive to VERY graphic gore DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE. It is rated R for a reason. There are scenes in which person after person have their necks ripped into and then gurgle as geysers of blood (rather cartoony looking blood however)shoot all over themselves, the room and Johnny Depp. I think that maybe Hellsing has corrupted me for life as despite all of the gore and general messed up-ness of this movie I found it to be really, REALLY hot. I think it was the chemistry between Mrs. Lovett and Sweeney Todd. It was I don't no how to describe it.
The actress who played Joanna was really shrill and "Pretty Women" will probably be stuck in my head for a while. The ending is messed up. It's a rocks fall, everyone dies kind of ending. More in depth talk on this tomorrow after I've really simmered for a while.
Oh and we got pot pie from Giant afterwards. I imagined that it had parts of a whole bunch of kids from high school who were horrible to me, my advisor from last semester and Dr. Lauterbach (my chem teacher from 1st semester of freshman year) in it. It was DELICIOUS.
Sic gorgiamus allos subjectatos nunc, baby. (Extra nerdy love bonus points if you know where that Latin phrase is from).
Well I'm going to cuddle my Lucky Pack for a bit and then go to bed. Sweet dreams everyone.
