Growing up I watched A LOT of tv. I loved watching some of the kind of creepy shows and cartoons that came on usually in the wee hours of the 1990's. A lot of these shows have long since gone off the air and many have slipped off into obscurity. Fortunately, the internet has nifty places like youtube, veoh and google video which have become repositories for nostalgia junkies like myself and I was able to find quite a few of my favorite shows from my youth.
The first is a show that aired on Nickelodeon back in the days of Eureka's Castle and Wild and Crazy Kids and has been brought back for the Halloween season...It's....

This episode "The Tale of the Twisted Claw" may be the 4th episode, but it's actually the pilot for the show, so I tought I'd start here. I loved this show as a kid. It was my first exposure to horror stories and I haven't looked back since. I've also wanted to be part of something like The Midnight Society.
The next is a cartoon that if I remember correctly also came on Nickelodeon back in the 1990's. I wasn't as big a fan of it as Lauren (my sister) was as a kid, but I did love the movie and I did love the Monster Across the Street. It's...

Now that I'm older, I totally get the jokes in this show. I think that's what was wrong when I was younger.
The next show is another show I wasn't into at first but came to love. I think it was because of Merton Dingle who is hands down my favorite Goth character in any show ever (I might be a little biased as I ). If you still think men are dogs, this might be the show for you. It's....
Big Wolf on Campus
Confession: Merton x Tommy is still my OTP. I mean seriously, with lines like "I'd probe you right here, but I barely know you." how could not ship them?
The next show fed right into my obsession with Egypt. I used to think that this show was just a figment of my imagination unti I saw a VHS of it in Hollywood Video (rip). It's a pretty exciting show that before you know it you've gotten really "wrapped up" in it. ;-) It's...

It's like Sailor Moon with mummies! Another show that I didn't get the jokes until now...
The next show had a monster under the bed that you kind of wanted to be there and a really freakin' catchy song. I think it recently came out on DVD. It's...

And finally, is a show based on I believe a manga and a series of video games. This was my first exposure to anything of Japanese origin and my earliest cartoon memory. I remember Felicia as being one of my favorite characters as a kid...I don't however remember that Guily Spark looking/sounding thing. Where's the Master Chief when you need him? Anyway...it's...

Today I realized just how bad this show was. The voice acting, the plot, like everything. It's so cheesy! It's not quite Double Dragon bad, but it's pretty close.
Alright, so there you have it. There are some other shows that I would have loved to have posted here like The Addams Family and Ripley's Believe It or Not cartoons and some other's that would fit into this category but I didn't like such as Big Bad Beetleborgs which was like Power Rangers meets like the cheesiest horror movie you can think of and Goosebumps (I prefered the books).
I hope everyone enjoyed traveling with me on this little nostalgia trip. Until tomorrow, sweet dreams. *cackles*
