[The Dreamberry turns on to the sound of barking and the sight of a big, black paw falling away from the screen, showing Zack sitting on his bed.
With an acoustic guitar. Talus looks back at him as if he just hasn't turned on the device.]
Talus! Careful, kiddo. That's the only one I have.
[Talus barks again, tail wagging.]
Fine, fine, you seem to be

Really? I haven't played in ten years or so.

Well for someone who hasn't played in ten years or so I think it's wonderful!

[Or twice, in his case. Get an extension.]

[Oh! Oh!! OH!!! He just had a brilliant thought!]
How do you learn to play songs on that thing?
Reply
[Brilliant or terrifying, Sora?]
Well, you have one hand here, on the doojiggey-
[He wiggles his fingers over the neck of the guitar.]
-and that's how you get the different notes. Then you strum with your other hand-
[He demonstrates it.]
-which gives you the actual sound. And that's the really basic basics. It takes a while to get used to, but eventually you form a muscle memory, which is how I think I can play as well as I can after so long. But at home, I would just experiment, see what note combinations I could make and memorize 'em.

Doojiggey? Is that even a real word?
[It sounds made up even to Sora. Either way he waves a hand.]
That's not what I meant. If you heard a song then could you learn to play it or would you need sheet music?
Reply
Sure it is.
I never really had any tabs written down for me when I was growin' up, but I could probably pick up the music if I listened to a song enough times.

In who's language?
So... you could learn Christmas songs?
Reply
Fairese.
...Christmas?
Reply
Thaaaat's what I thought.
Yeah, Christmas. [Oh right, Zack didn't know about Halloween so he must not know about Christmas.] It's another holiday. This one you get together with friends and family and celebrate being together. [Or something. :\ That's one of the only parts that matter to Sora.] You diiiiid get my invitation for a party, didn't you?

It's a noble language, I'll have you know.
That sounds nice. And I did, I just had no idea what it's celebrating.
Reply
Is it now? So noble that only one person knows and speaks it? [Oh so teasing.]
It is nice! My favorite holiday of the year. [Wait, back to the devious plot.] So if you learned some Christmas songs would you play them at the party?
Reply
It's pretty exclusive, too. Not everyone has the skills.
I could try. The party's on the nineteenth, right?
Reply
What kind of skills does someone need to be able to speak it?
Yeah, the nineteenth. If you could it'd be great but don't worry about it too much - we're all supposed to be having fun, not feeling stressed.

Fabulousness.
Get me some music and I'll see what I can do.
