I've gone on at length about this before, but they crossed the dang line with this one.
The Seahawks have this ridiculous "12th fan" slogan thing. If you're not a football person and this doesn't make any sense, it's because there are 11 players on the field at any given time, so the 12th player would therefore be the fans. Go fans! We're so emotionally invested in a team that involves us in some way!
The problem is that the slogan should be: "The 12th MAN", since that's what it's actually called. But I'm guessing they don't want to alienate the female fans they went with "fan". Which does not make a damn bit of sense. Do all the fans have numbers? Even if they did, there'd be only one 12th fan. This is the kind of thing that drives me up a wall!
So today, I see a seahawks bumper sticker that says "12 Man" on it. What the hell is that supposed to mean? Who the hell signed off on that? It's just a bunch of nonsense. Like if you did that to another slogan, it'd just be ridiculous. Like the republican party's slogan: "We're gonna fuck you over a barrel." or whatever it is. So there'd be like a John McCain head, and it would say "Barrel fucker" next to it, or something.
Which is an awesome bumper sticker and doesn't really illustrate my point.
