The finished wallpaper is up for grabs. Credit if you take, please. I'd like to know who has it. The Prison Break one isn't.
I had three main images all around 430x330. (Can't remember where I got the pic of both of them)
1. Open a 640X480 (or whatever size you like) image (Base). White background.
2. Using the Rectangle tool (#808080 foreground color) create a bar down the left side.
3. Select: Effects - 3D effects - Drop Shadow. This will automatically convert it to a raster layer. Make your shadow. (my settings: 6V 5H 50O 2B) Play with it. See what you like.
Now...
1. Take Image One. Sharpen more. Or fiddle with the image till you get it how you like.
2. Select Tool - Rounded Square - (select the part of the image you want) - Copy - Paste as new layer into Base.
I wanted both images to be black and white as contrast. So with the second one I...
1. Sharpen more. Being careful not to make it too grainy. I find (sometimes) using the one step photo fix also helps. Once I've got a decent image it's time to make it black and white.
2. You can either go to Image - Greyscale. (Unless, I'm in a hurry I don't do this. It doesn't give as many details I think.)
3. Or you can Adjust - Hue and Saturation - H/S/L (Settings: 0H/-100/0L) {This is also good for making tinted images}
Rinse and repeat the select and paste. Same for the third image.
Now here's where personal preference comes in. Arrange your layers to your satisfaction. I liked the B&W on the right hand side. I then merged all the layers. Next I create two vector layers. On the first using the font Stencilia-A (#838383 color) I added text. Size to about thirty. I added a drop shadow. On the second vector layer I added more text in a smaller size, lighter shade, and emphasized the shadow. Merge all.
All done. Simple, clean. I'm a minimalist.
