Summer has been good so far. A little drama, but all in all it's been pretty worth it.
I've been looking for a job without success. I've put in over 50 applications by now, and had a few interviews, but without results. Hopefully that clears up soon, because I'm in desperate need of money.
I got to go on two vacations this summer. One to Kansas City (which was nothing BUT drama, but it was nice to get away from town and see my nieces) and one to Cancun. The Cancun vacation was amazing. I got to play at a beautiful, crystal clear, white-sanded beach (with horrendous amounts of gorgeous eye-candy), smoke a Cuban cigar, visit a Mayan ruin (with the worst tour guide ever), go snorkeling, make a lot of new friends and acquaintances, and eat amazing seafood, with 3 open bars and free drinks. Paradise somehow doesn't cover how amazing it was.
But now, the school year is gonna be starting soon, and I am trying to make a huge decision. I only have enough money for one more semester at The Art Center, and after that, I'm pretty much broke for good. I could go to Pima, but I've heard from many places that the art program there is worse than the U of A, so Pima would only be beneficial for my Gen Eds. I'm starting to look into scholarships and grants and loans, which may help with the overall problem, but doesn't help with the immediate dilemma of which school should I go to?
I love the Art Center. I honestly feel this is the place I need to be right now. I like the place and the people, and what I'm learning here will be incredibly beneficial to my later career as an artist. I don't want to leave, but I might be forced to if I can't pay. So, do I go to the place I want to go to for one more semester, hoping to get scholarships and grants for the next term? or do I play it safe and go to the place that's cheaper, but that I don't want to be so badly I've avoided it like the plague?
My current thoughts are to go to the Art Center for one last run while I try like hell to get some extra money from any place I can, then go to Pima the next semester for some Gen Eds, and then transfer back to the Art Center for my art classes with the money from the grants and scholarships and so forth. For right now, thats the best plan I can think of, but is definitely not bullet proof, which isn't nearly good enough for me right now.
I'm not sure what I hope to accomplish by writing this. I suppose it just helps to get these thoughts down on in writing and out of my head.
