Sweet Viking Christ!!

Man, this has been a pretty eventful couple of weeks.

So, I'll start off by saying that I think the Transformers movie is probably my new fav. It exceeded all my expectations, but then I'm a nerdy fanboy, so thats pretty easy. However, I've seen it twice now, and both times with people who aren't as nerdy as me (let alone transformers fans) and they were both really impressed. I could talk more about it, but I would be spoiling it for people who haven't seen it yet, and I always get yelled at for doing that.

I've been working a little less lately which has been nice. Of course it also helps that I now have a reason. I recently bought a new guitar. An Ibanez acoustic AEF30E-TBK with a cut out, electric hook ups, EQ, the works (plus it's really pretty to boot). I have a few more payments on it and then it's all mine!! I'm so happy. At first I was really worried, because I detest the feeling of owing people money (I even get nervous and uncomfortable when people owe me money). But when I think about it rationally, I really did love the guitar and I've been meaning to buy a new acoustic anyway, so this kind of worked out (even though I only went into Guitar Center to buy strings lol).

I got to see Lindsey for a little bit, and that was always fun. I just wish we had more time to chill, but it's all good. Just means that I now have a reason to go to Texas.

But I suppose the most eventful things occurred today. After work this morning, I went to an open house at the Art Center Design College with my mom and sister, and man, I just fell in love with the place. The entire school is just one big gallery. They have all different kinds of art hanging up all year round from the different classes there, and all of it fantastic in its own way. I got inspired just walking around campus and looking at the different works of art. The facilities are everything I could have ever hoped for, and more!! So many different supplies to just have fun with, and a really chill environment to work in as well. I've decided I'm going to major in Illustration, as that is probably the class that will help me the most with my current goals. I talked to the head of the illustration department because I was worried that maybe the school wouldn't be the right place for my field of interest or that maybe I was thinking too narrowly. After talking to the guy though, I've decided that this is definitely the place for me. Not only are there so many opportunities open to an illustration major that I never even thought of, but there are people who have graduated from there who have gone into the comics field and are now pretty successful, so I know that as long as I keep my focus strait, then I will totally rock that place. I'm really psyched!!

Afterwards, I took my sister to see the new Harry Potter movie, and I have to say that I was pretty impressed. Now, its not that I'm not a HP fan. I've read all the books, seen all the movies, and even played a game or two, but it's never really hooked me as much as other titles (something about the lack of giant alien robots beating the hell out of each other just loses it for me). I mean, I like the story and all, but there are just too many parallels that can be made to Star Wars and Lord of the Rings that the plot sometimes seems almost a bit generic by today's standards. However, the new movie I was very pleased with. The whole atmosphere seemed to take on a whole new darker tone than I've seen previously, and it was pretty refreshing. Plus, there were a lot more action sequences to keep me entertained that were very well done (I won't spoil anything, but the final fight between Dumbledore and Voldemort is worth it by itself in my opinion).

Thats about it so far. I have work again tomorrow, and need to pay off more on my new guitar.

Aloha for now.
much luv,
