New SPN Fic: Red, 1/10

Sep 25, 2006 15:50

Seriously, friends, real life has completely kicked my ass lately. I've only been able to cling to the fandom by the fingertips of one hand, the one that's typed this out. This too will pass: I'll get the work done, or I'll get myself fired from various projects. Either way, I'll have more time to write and read soon. And I think I've got ( Read more... )

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

Okay, now that I've had the requisite vowel movement -- Jeez, this is three stories in one, isn't it? Present day, 1997, and -- dear lord -- 1992. And why do I fear that 1992 will be the hardest on Dean?

The Springheel Jack comment made me sporfle. Also the vegans. Heeeee!

Oh MAN, am I ever looking forward to more. You have NO idea. ::gnaws nails::

Oh, 1992 will be hard, my dear, but never discount the present day in its ability to serve up a good blood-letting. All SORTS of unpleasantness awaits. I am also intrigued by how I'm going to pull it off, but I've been having so much fun immersing myself in logging and treeplanting photos that it's all good. I owe you a billion comments -- rl has been a particular bitch lately.

*sighs indulgently and splays self on the settee to enjoy bonbons*

Oh, this story is going to break my heart, isn't it? What am I saying, it's already breaking my heart and we've hardly even gotten into the plot.

Great start, great Dean and Sam, can't wait to see where you take us next. *puts tray table in upright and locked position*

That's my girl. I hope your seatbelt is fastened as well. And that the airbags work. And that you're actually one of those crash-test dummies.

Waaaaaahhh!!! DEAN!!! No..don't do it!! Don't be a rent-boy!! I love how Dean is so freaked out by this, and yet, determined to face whatever the hell it is. How he's still (damn, boy, don't you EVER learn?) keeping things from Sam. And, I love Walla Walla, which made me chortle with joy on the VERY FIRST LINE. Also love the big bad wolf references, and broken arm? Squee!!
Oh god, I'm SO glad you're posting a story. Life is never better than when you're posting...Happy, Happy place. For now only, I fear.

I'm delighted that I'm the radio station in your happy place! That's the best thing I've heard...*thinks hard*...all WEEK. Goddamn, how can you not love Walla Walla? A town made to be a punchline.

So pleased to have something to say I could just sit at this barstool for awhile.

Jesus christ, now that you mention it, it IS tiny type. Bloody fucking hell, now I'm going to have to go figure that one out. How'd it get so small? I must have ASKED it to at some point. *growls*

Pleased that this has grabbed you. What big ears you have. What tiny type I have.

Dude, prolly you didn't ask, lj is a stone-cold bitch sometimes.

Hrmm. Now, this is better - the font's different. It's still little but it's not all weird and scrunchy.

I hate that you have to opt *out* of stuff on lj. Should all be opt in!

Ever seen 'A Company of Wolves'?

*la*

Shit, I KNEW I'd seen that movie! You know (and I'm about to date myself ferociously) I think I saw it when it CAME out...it's been awhile. I have a long-standing love affair with David Warner, who is a brilliant underrated actor, and Neil Jordan is pretty damn fine himself. There is, of course, lots about coming of age in Little Red Riding Hood and about not straying from the path, and about big bad wolves and so forth. I don't know if I'll be able to do it all justice, but I'll cough up a lung trying! Or at least break a few fingernails.
