Yesterday, the plan was, Lesley was going to get me a google phone/HTC dream for my birthday.
This requires us to switch from Fido to Rogers. Here we go...
After waiting roughly 2 hours in a future shop, the _lone_ guy on a saturday at 6 pm was unable to activate our new contract with Rogers, but at no extra charge, this process did in fact manage to accidentally deactivate my current cell phone.
It was one of those times when somebody has a tech/computer problem, where it becomes "Oh, crap, problem A happened - it'll just be a few minutes, I'll go to backup system X. Backup system X is closed, it'll just be a few more minutes...
For about 2 hours. Then the poor fucking salesman finally admitted defeat. By this point I think I had some species of Stockholm Syndrome, as I was by this point starting to sympathize with my captor.
So, they tell us they will both be ready today. I figure if we're in the store more than 5 or 10 minutes, I'll tell them cancel the whole thing, even if that means I have to spend 2 hours in some other store.
I don't know how rogers stays in business, I was thinking, but of course their lousy setup didn't stop _me_ from being their customer, so I guess I'm not alone.
At any rate, there's certainly legions of rogers customers who can't wait to dump them.
