ok, today was my anatomy scan ultrasound. that went well, and it looks like we're having a girl! (my daughter is going to be THRILLED.)
everything seems to be going really well with the baby - she's right on target for size, unfortunately it looks like i'm developing further complications. when i arrived at the dr's office, i was having some shortness of breath, and my pulse was 136. needless to say, the nurse had a mild freakout. we already knew that i was having some BP issues, and they switched me off of my old BP meds about 3 months ago. they're thinking that i need to be switched back, but they're not 100% sure that that is the answer. so now i get to go see a cardiologist... yay.
they also looked over my blood sugar readings today. my daytime numbers looked pretty good, but there was some concern about my fasting numbers being too high. i mentioned that i've been getting up nightly to take tums for the indigestion, and the doctor said that tums are "loaded" with sugar. so, i'm switching to sugar free tums, and taking a zantac every night at bed time. i'm going to send them my numbers after a week of that and we'll see if they look better. if they do, awesome. if not, i have to start taking insulin at bed time every night. i would LOVE to avoid that if at all possible, so fingers crossed. o.O
all-in-all it was a good appointment today. the baby looks great, i've got some problems, but they were expected, and will be dealt with. ^_^
