Hmmm.... Where should I start?
Let's see, Friday, I got out of work a little later than usual, but still had time to grab a couple beers @ Beer Thirty. Got home, and started making weekend plans. Went to bed.
Saturday, we were going to go to the beach, but I wanted to get a skimboard for the boys to use, and hadn't done that yet. So, we went out to Treasure Island, and hit a few surf shops to see what we could find. The first one we stopped at was pretty cool, and had some good boards, but not exactly what I was looking for... We hit a couple others, but all anyone else had was either WAY too expensive, or just cheap crappy wood boards... nothing in the middle. I wanted a western flyer, but no one had them. So, we ended up going back to the first place "Lenny's" in Pasedena. I decided to go ahead and get 2 of them. Both were PVC made by some company in New York, one was a little bigger than the other, and they're virtually undestructible. Ended up getting both of them for under $100. SWEET.
When we got home, Beth went out back to lay out, and get some sun, I str8'nd out the living room a little bit, and put the boards away.
When Beth came back in, I headed out. Stopped at the store to get a 6 pack, and some ice, and worked my way towards Clearwater. I had no idea how to get where I was going, so I called Jesus... voicemail... Brain... voicemail... I was looking in my phone to see who to call next when Jesus called back. Cool. I have directions!! I get to his B-Day party, there was no where to park, so I pulled down to the end of the street, and just left it in front of some random person's house. It was all good.
Went in, and had a good time. I gave Jesus one of my framed photographs... not the best present I've ever given, but the price was right! Besides, it's a good lookin' pic, and it was taken out by the Gandy Bridge. There were a bunch of people there, music was goin' on, the food was good, the people were great, I had a really good time. Thanks Jesus!!
About 6 everyone started to head out to Gandy, or over to Gulfport Sam's place, and I had to get home. Got home, and we headed out to Wal~Mart to get the remaining supplies for the Beach on Sunday. Beth and I got into an argument about stupid shit, and ended up fighting most of the night. That really sucked. But, we ended up working it out, and that's what matters.
Sunday, we got up early, and headed out around 8:00AM. Being a holiday weekend, we knew it would be CRAZY at the beach, and there's really only 1 way to get there. We got there around 8:30 or so, and it was pretty empty. We skim boarded, and played in the water, and dug in the sand, and snacked, and had a GREAT time. It was so fun watching the boys (especially Gavyn) on the skimboards... I even did pretty well for a fat old man! I walked a lot, and ended up with a couple blisters on the bottoms of my feet, but they're already better. When we left the beach (about 1:30), the traffic going towards the beach was UN-REAL!!!! It was backed up for miles!!! It was all the way back about a mile or so North of the exit on I-275. CRAZY! We got home, and cleaned up a bit for Monday, and headed to the store for food and such. I also put any of the hot pepper plants I had that were still in pots into the ground. I made a new bed, and they all seem to be doing well. For dinner, the boys had frozen pizza, Beth and I got Marbo (Chinese take out).
Monday, we got up, and finished getting everything ready, and ran out to get a couple last minute items. Dee got there around 10:30, and my aunts showed up a little after 11:00. Milly brang 2 twelve packs of Bud!!! WOOOOOOOOOO!!! Sweet. I've got beer for a good week or more now! I got the grill started. Charcoal on the weber kettle. We had chicken, brats, burgers, steaks, and hot dogs. Everything was awesome, especially the chicken. Beth used the "mother and sons" seasoning from Paula Deen (Food Network), and it was just perfect. I had a good buzz on by the time everyone left, and we all took a nap. When we got up, we did a little more cleaning up, and I did some work in the garden. Decided to plant some more jalapenos next weekend, and setup for a new bed for those, and set up a place for a new compost heap. The first compost heap is pretty much ready to use, and I'm going to dig it out and put on a top layer for the jalapenos I'm planting next weekend.
I guess that's it.
It's been a slow day here @ work, and I'm ready to go home (but I can't yet). I'm still a bit sleepy from the weekend too, and don't feel like doing much.
Oh well...
more tomorrow.
