The Attention Span of People

I was reading an interesting thread on MySpace called "Is Gay Right?" The topic, that for some stupid reason, comes up in my every day life. As I was reading this thread there were smart & stupid comments made by both sides. Then, as I read further, the topic changed from Gay being right or wrong to talking about how things & people are named after terms used for sex, sex acts & desserts. I was going to comment on some of the comments, but then I realized it would be futile. If the same people that first were in what seemed like a valid debate changed the topic to something that was totally out of the field of the topic, my comment would fall on deaf ears & blind eyes. I wonder what tomorrow's topic will be; "Gay Marriage". That normally follows the morals of homosexuality. I'm sure that topic would then change to the current goings-on in peoples local toilets.
GAH sometimes I wonder if the human race will ever grow up!
