The Beginning of 2008....The End of 2007

Well my life was on a downward spiral for the past few months & now I'm starting to pull out of it. I was able to quit Hardee's & get back into an office environment at Echostar. The past three weeks there have been entertaining. All of my ATR training is coming back to me even though the way we do tech support has completely changed, but oh well I'm making $11 an hour now so I'll do it the way they want me to. I also found out about an incentive they have called pay for performance. It's where you get a bonus for making your customer contact goals (Handle time & aux modes) & your QA scores. If I hit all of my goals then I get a percentage of my check added to my check as a bonus. If I meet expectations I get 5% added, if I go a bit above I get 10% added, & if I excel then I get 20% added on.
They also are still on mandatory OT, but instead of losing a day off you get to add an hour or so to your shift, which is great because I want my two days off. So not only will I get a bonus for making my goals I will also get OT pay, AND I started acquiring paid time off from day one, I go holiday pay for x-mas & new years. I 'm really enjoying working there again, & this time I'm going to try not to screw it up.

So my goals for 2008 are to get a car, pay my bills that are waaay past due, & to pay the tax penalties that I have been charged. So yeah, I haven't filed taxes in 3 years, which isn't that bad considering that the government has been taking out as much money as they can from my checks, but I received a letter from the Common Wealth that I owe over $500 in taxes to them. That is beyond fucked up. I'm going to take my last Hardee's check to H&R Block & have them fill all my past taxes as well. Then if I still owe money I'll pay it, & hopefully have some money left over to pay my other bills. AND if at all possible get me a damn car.

We'll see what the future has in store for me. I'm actually going to try to be optimistic, but pessimistically.
