All But Necessity

For my birthday, it is possible that my parents, one of them or both of them, for christmas and/or birthday, will get me a new iPad to solve the problems of slowness and a growing app incompatibility that the current one annoyingly has (by virtue of being capped at an OS one behind the current). That, or "needed" gift cards to Target, or NewEgg, or the Apple Store. Or really solving whatever material deficiency is present in my life. Really, I'd far more rather they be able to relate to me; to understand me as people like Daniel Sherman and Rosie do. To understand what drives me and why it drives me. To understand what makes me happy and contrastingly, what makes me unhappy. To take one look at me and just know where I am, where I've been, and where I want to go. To see themselves in me, to pin-point some of the weirder habits I have as habits that they themselves also have. I badly want that kind of relation and connection with them. I guess I'll just settle for an iPad.
