I got back off deployment about a week ago, and a crazy week it has been. Still got a lot of stuff to do.
Deployment was alright, mostly boring. I can't believe how much stuff happened while I was gone. My parents managed to move out to Montana, my dad got a stable job, and then for certain reasons they moved back to Michigan in the time frame I was gone. My work place in Virgnina managed to go from undermanned to grossly undermanned. Not to mention most of the people I worked with are either on deployment or gone. I did make some new friends though, surprisingly even though we spent 16 hours a day together for 7.5 months in our small shop I get along with most of the guys I was deployed with pretty well.
I ended up going to Michigan for about 2 days when I got off deployment. I got to see only a few people for a few hours, I don't even count it as being home. If I did not call you it is because I thought you were not home. I'm going to be coming home again this summer, probably for a lot longer. Basically I have spent 60 days over the last 3 years at home. I have 60 days of vacation for this year alone, so i'll be home a lot more. A little over 11 months, i'll no longer be active duty.
Dubai was not all it was cracked up to be, I spent about two weeks total there.
South Africa was cool, the 8 hours i was there.
England was amazing, especially the city of Bath, i'll be returning there.
I paid off my car a few days ago! And I move into my new apartment thursday, which is amazingly exciting. It will be my first place without any roomates. And most excitingly Megan is coming to visit tomorrow, so It's going to be a good week!
