Getting a Doberman
Hi all you big dog people. I'm a newbie, so thought I'd post an intro and a question.
i'm Jenn, 24 years old, and live in Missouri. My fiance and I have a border collie/springer spaniel mix and a calico cat, and we're thinking of adopting a 1 year old male Doberman pinscher. He sounds like an awesome dog, but still very puppyish and mischievous...he already knows how to open doors and turn on faucets to get a drink of water. LOL. So, my question is this. What do I need to know about Dobermans? I'm looking for everything you experienced Dobie owners know now that you wish someone had told you before you got yours. In other words, spam me with info. I've already checked out the AKC website for breed specifications and all that, but it's not all that informative in other aspects of the breed.
