Blackberry *thud*

So yeah, the Blackberry has started acting wonky while I'm at work. Basically what will happen is battery will be fully charged (or at least above 80% capacity) when suddenly, it'll reboot. No warning, it's working fine and dandy and then BAM! Black screen and I get the 12 minute progress bar. And when it comes back, power will be at 4-6% and too ( Read more... )

Probably a combination of two things. Depending on how old the phone is, the first part sounds like a mostly-consumed battery that isn't reporting the right capacity to the phone (ie it goes from saying it's almost full to dead without much warning) and then the signal strength could be making it consume the battery more quickly. I was finding that my phone was going dead around 4pm on some days and it turned out it was because for most of that day I was in a building with minimal service so my phone was constantly searching for service which sucks the battery down. Some phones have a "go to sleep and stop searching after a certain amount of time" feature but a lot don't, even my fairly new droid will continue to search for service until it finds it (which means at a lot of cons, esp ota and katsu, I'm having to plug my phone in around 6pm to make sure I have enough battery for the rest of the night ( ... )
