Very good reads; you sound like Inara in all of them. Interesting idea that her mother may have been a companion as well. It makes you wonder whether she would have chosen that life if she hadn't been raised by a companion, and whether a child that young can be mature enough to decide.

Thank you! She was being just a mite secretive, so I'm glad you think I captured her. *g*

I think Companioning seems like a career that would be entered into only because other family members had been in the field. I agree that a child that young wouldn't be mature enough to make the decision, but based on info from a deleted scene in the BDM, Inara began training at 12. I imagine no final decisions would be made, though, until the age of consent had been reached. At least, I hope not. *g*
