I'm sorry you are still hurting, Brian. Although, of course, I can perfectly understand the fact.
As always, though, stress, overwork, and the like, all come together to produce the most amazing writing!

What a wonderful chapter !
You had me laughing out loud, almost from the first line, and wincing in anguish at some of the interactions, and their possible outcomes!

I really like the idea of Justinian being the one who had to be left behind, for fear of him being too feral for people to see. priceless!
And the interaction, now, between him and Alberic is exquisite!

I adore Alberic. He's so much fun.
I liked the way that he stood up to Bryant. It's true. Fairies aren't lesser beings than Vampires. They are every bit as scary, in their own way. And, as Alberic said, they have a world of their own to retreat to , if things get scary.
I liked his reply to Slade, too. Been there, had that, liked it" :) Sums him up so well !

All of the conversations were wonderful. Word perfect.
The arguments that Alberic brought up are really worrying.
I know that Bryant is very bright, and must have thought of some of the possibilities before hand. But, for all of his "supposed" indifference, I worry that there is a certain naivite about him. He wants to trust and believe, in a way.
There are so many humans out there to be afraid of!
I'm so grateful that he has Slade and Justinian to watch out for him.
I still worry about Slade, though. He will always put Bryant before everything, even now Justinian is his slayer.

This was such a great chapter, I could go on all night about it !

I hope that life is now treating you more kindly.
Sending you love, hugs, and, of course, a howl from the pack !
Anita.
