I interviewed at a school yesterday that started off by putting me totally in defense mode. Why did you get excesses, why haven't you taught AP or Reagrnts Chemistry before, can you controll your cslssroom? Puke. They did not give a shit about who I am as a person and they subscribe to pedagogy quite different to my own. All this principle cares about is results. He was in no way trying to tell me why I would even want to work at this school. I was thinking, did you even read my resume? what a waste of time... I was honestly about ready to excuse myself. With in the span of 5 mind his attitude comletely changed. He started saying that I would be a perfect fit for the school and the AP showed me around the building and asked what classroom I would prefer. They said I should ask the other schools that I'm aplying to to wait until they make their desision... It was a little reduculous. The thing is that this is a fantastic school. I would have been less annoyed by the principle going on and on about rigor if he'd started by saying students take AP physics and calculus as early as their freshman year... They have band and orhestra. They have a dance studio and weight room. This school is like ankeny hs but with windows, in new York, and even better achedemics and facilities. I am somewhat out of my mind terrified to take the job. Ugh.
