Had a great weekend/early week!
Went to Las Vegas to interview for the Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine. On Sunday, went to look at apartments in Henderson, just in case I get into the school. Saw three places that were all essentially the same, but I liked them all. Then went to the strip, and played in a poker tournament, $65 buy-in, finished 4th place, won $189. Yay! That was the only gambling I did all weekend.
On Monday was my actual interview. Gave myself plenty of time, and decided to stop for breakfast, which was screwed up thanks to the inept Burger King employees. After almost half an hour, I still didn't have my order. Had to leave to get to my interview in time, sans French Toast sticks. :( Interview day was extremely positive, though. The facilities are excellent, the people are super-friendly, and the interview itself went smoothly. They seemed to be very impressed by my credentials. I will get the decision on Friday, but I'm quite optimistic about it, and can really see myself going to school there. Stayed in Las Vegas another night, but didn't do any gambling. Came home Tuesday morning/afternoon.
On Tuesday, went with Melissa to go see Charlotte <3. We had dinner at a hole-in-the-wall type place that ended up being really good, with awesome drinks with house-infused vodka. Saw an excellent show with Charlotte, which was mostly newer material with a lot of energy (touring with Veruca Salt and Poets and Pornstars makes her shows lean toward "rocking out.") Met with her during the meet-and-greet, which was spectacular. I had a real opportunity to re-connect with her, and share a moment. She seemed very vulnerable, and in some ways I feel like I gave her a lot of support.
I ran some errands today, and then completely crashed for a couple of hours in the afternoon, just exhausted. But very, very happy. Hopefully I'll get a positive decision on my interview on Friday.
