Random thoughts and questions

1) Kelly and I went to go develop pictures today. She is taking a B&W photography course, and I didn't have to be into work until 3, so I decided to go along. I have never developed film before. It seemed kinda fun. I already came up with 2 inventions based on the trip: a) a towel shaped like film to dry the inside of your reels; and b) an automatic negative cutting machine. They have it at CVS, right? I know most of the fun in developing is in doing it yourself, but is there really an art to going between frame 6 and 7? I think not. Let a machine do it.

2) Driving home, we passed the Western PA School for the Blind. A weird question popped into my head, and I'm not making fun of the blind, but: how do they decide which color to paint the walls at the school for the blind?

3) When I go shopping, and I know the store is closing in 5 minutes, I run in, get what I need (which was planned out before I even got there), and leave. Why, EVERY NIGHT, do stupid people come into the store to browse the TVs at closing time? "Oh, just looking, thanks." Fucking assholes.

4) Most of you won't understand, but anyone who knows Pittsburgh would: Why is there a Porsche dealership on Melwood ave. in Oakland?

5) I feel bad. Kelly and Amy posted about Bat Boy: The Musical, and I saw it too. Not only that, I'm probably the Weekly World News' number 1 fan. It was a great musical. Reminded me a lot of Edward Scissorhands for various reasons. I give the entire show 2 thumbs up, save one weird number in the middle. It was a giant sex scene, complete with random porn music thrown in (Kelly wrote about it in greater detail). It was vulgar and lewd. Not that I normally have a problem with that, but the entire rest of the show was tongue-in-cheek. It didn't flow at all. Not the actors' faults, though. Blame the playwright or the director for leaving it in. The cast was wonderful. The only other complaint I have is that some characters had southern accents and others didn't. Seemed almost random (save Bat Boy, whose accent (which wasn't southern) was explained). Be consistent, people.

Anyway, if you're in the area, tomorrow's the last day. Go see it. If not, check it out when it comes near you.

6) This is freaking awesome.

7) Even awesomer is that after tomorrow, I have 2 weeks off. WOO HOO!
