Just a thought...

Ever been in a situation in which you were so scared you thought you'd die?  Or in a situation in which you might have died?  Or maybe a situation in which you should have died, but mysteriously lived?  Did you feel that much closer to God?

The thing about humanity that I don't get is "Why does it take a traumatic event to come closer to God?".  I remember the Sunday after 9/11... and the church was packed.  It was like Christmas or Easter, which are the only times of the year when people actually feel OBLIGATED to attend church.  Why is that?  Why don't people feel obligated to read there bible or talk with others about God all the time?  Because I might somehow offend you, thats why.  American's are too soft when it comes to diversity.  "Oh, I can't tell you that your way of worshipping is wrong because I might somehow offend you."  Believe me, if your doing something wrong, I'll let you know.  Fuck everyone else.

It's like the turd in the punchbowl.  Everyone knows it's there, but no one says anything... except me.  It's on the tip of everyone's tongue, but I'm the only one who feels obligated to say anything.  Why is that?  People are wussies.  It's better to be fully commited or fully against it... I hate being half way, and so does God.

"But people can worship as they please.  It's an American right as a US Citizen."  And indeed they should.  If you wanna pray to a different God, or no God at all, thats your business and your right to do so.  But atleast get it right before you do it.  Do a little studying from time to time on your own.  If your like me, you like to see things for yourself... so, pick up the damn book and read it.  It's not really that hard.  Believe me, I'm not just talking out of my ass here.

People often ask me "How can you talk as if God's right there with you, telling you how he feels?"  Why?  My personal relationship with him.  If your married to someone, arn't they going to share there thoughts, feelings and expectations with you?  They should, and usually do.  And what happens if you don't listen to them?  They get pissed, right?  Why?  Because you didn't listen when they clearly told you what they expected.

I can't put that any more simply.

Good luck and God Bless!

~Matt~
